A Sound Board for Church and Worship Teams
Most worship teams run on volunteers, and the person on the sound desk this week may not be the person next week. Instant Play 2500 keeps the extras of a service, such as walk-in music, stingers, and offering beds, on big labeled buttons that a new volunteer can learn in a few minutes.
Set it up once, reuse it every week
- One bank per type of service. For example, Bank 01 for Sunday morning, Bank 02 for youth night, Bank 03 for Christmas and Easter. The free version includes Bank 01 only, so extra banks need Premium. If you stay on the free version, one session per service type still works.
- Plain names. "Welcome Bed", "Offering Music", and "Announcement Sting" mean more to a volunteer than file names. Long names scroll across the button.
- The same slot every week. If the welcome music is always slot 01, nobody has to hunt.
Run it during the service
Music that starts and ends gently
Right-click a slot to crossfade. The music that is playing fades out while the next piece fades in over about half a second, so there is no abrupt cut between walk-in music and the first song. Left-click plays a sound without interrupting anything else.
Beds for offering and prayer
With Premium, use LOOP to repeat a bed under an offering or a time of prayer, and the Sound Editor to set where the clip starts and stops. Press Space when the moment ends to stop the last sound.
Easy for volunteers
- Fullscreen mode (bottom-right button) removes distractions and keeps the buttons large.
- Esc stops all sounds, or Shift + Space if the app is fullscreen.
- The key for each slot is printed under its button, and clicking works just as well as typing.
Save a session for each service
Log in, then SAVE SESSION to store which sound sits in which slot of every bank. Name it after the service, load it at the start of the morning, and the layout is exactly as you left it.
Things to know
- Sounds are stored in the browser on the computer where you added them. Set it up on the computer that will run the service and log in there each week.
- Instant Play 2500 plays to your computer's output. To reach the house speakers, connect that output to your sound desk.
- Music licensing is your church's responsibility. Make sure you have the right to use any recording you upload.
- There are no lyrics, slides, or video features. It plays audio only.
A Sunday morning routine
- Open the app, log in, and load that service's session.
- Click any slot once, since browsers wait for a click before they allow audio.
- Play a short sound to check the volume at the speakers, and set the MASTER fader.
- Go fullscreen and leave the tab alone for the rest of the service.
